since yesterday

Strawberry Switchblade were a Scottish new wave duo and the only girl band in a scene made up of many of my other fav groups like Orange Juice, Aztec Camera, and Primal Scream. Jill Bryson and Rose McDowall were talented musicians and style icons of ultra-feminine '80s gothic fashions including flowing dresses, giant backcombed hairdos, and lots of lower lid liner. These ladies described themselves as "scabby witches from Glasgow," who were always adorned in multiple layers of ribbon and lace. Strawberry Switchblade's obsession with polka dots of every size is very similar to my own, and I love the massive fabric flowers and hair bows they sported. Please also take note of the pink patent granny boots below, which make my heart beat a little faster!

I love both their music and their sense of style! It's like a kitsch version of a post-punk goth! So, so cool. The hairstyles are awesome!

i've never seen under eye liner before but i kinda dig it. i can only imagine how fun it must have been to be young in the 80s.
